Katarzyna Pieprzak

Katarzyna Pieprzak is Professor of French and Comparative Literature, and currently Associate Dean of the Faculty, at Williams College. She is the author of Imagined Museums: Art and Modernity in Contemporary Morocco (2010), and co-editor of two volumes: Critical Interventions: Africanity and North Africa (2010) and Land and Landscape in Francographic Literature (2007). Her articles focus primarily on Moroccan contemporary and modern art history, Museum Studies, and 20thand 21stCentury Maghrebi Francophone literature. Her current book in progress, Elements of a Traveling Bidonville, explores the relationship between aesthetics, built environment, and political constitution in shantytowns in North Africa and France.
