Matthew Toro

Matthew Toro is the Director of Maps, Imagery, and Geospatial Services at ASU Library. He leads projects and programming at the Map and Geospatial Hub, ASU’s library-based center for GIS, remote sensing, and the related technologies needed to transform geospatial data into powerful, value-added information.  An applied geographer, Matt has researched and co-authored publications on subjects as diverse as land-change conflicts in the rural landscapes of southern Laos to the relationships of the built environment to community health in the urban landscapes of greater Miami. Among other projects, he is currently constructing a cartographic history of the greater Grand Canyon region.
