The Center for Maghrib Studies at Arizona State University (CMS) is presenting a conference on “Minorities in the Maghrib,” in Djerba Island, Tunisia, May 20th – 22nd, 2022.
Minorities in the Maghrib
The axes of the conference revolve around the historical formation and development of minorities, and the process of “minoritizing” and marginalizing in the contemporary Maghrib. The projection of minorities in the future will also be a central concern. The conference features as many voices as possible and will explore effective strategies in confronting relevant questions such as sexism, racism, xenophobia, and intolerance in all its forms, and inscribing them in school curricula as means to building a better and more inclusive Maghrib.
