Abdelaziz El Amrani is Associate Professor of English Literature and the History of Ideas and chair of the Department of English at Abdelmalek Essaadi University in Tetouan, Morocco. His areas of research Maghreb studies, Islam and the West, English Literature and religion, immigration Muslim narratives, postsecular studies, postcolonial studies and slave narratives. He has published many articles in both English and Arabic in peer-reviewed journals. His recent publications include “Desecularising the postcolonial resistance: the role of Islamic spirituality in the framing of Moroccan anticolonial thought”, published in The Journal of North African Studies (2021) and “The Postsecular Turn: Interrogating Postcolonialism after 9/11”, published in Interventions: International Journal of Postcolonial Studies (2022). He has also participated in numerous international and national conferences. Dr. Abdelaziz El Amrani has worked as a reviewer for different indexed journals such as The Journal of North African Studies (Routledge) and Journal of Muslims in Europe (Brill).
